How it works

Who can sign up?
Current USC undergrads who are 18 or older. We'll confirm with your USC email during your intro.
What do calls look like?
A high schooler taps "get help," you accept, and you're on a video call where you can see their screen: giving feedback on an essay, explaining what a prompt is really asking, or telling them what USC is actually like. We're planning around a 12-minute average call; individual calls will vary.
Do I write their essays?
Never. You coach; they write. No typing in their application, no promising admission, no contact off the platform. That keeps everyone safe and honest.
How do I get paid?
$42 an hour, counted by the minute you're on a call. You'll set up payment when you're approved.
International student?
Some visas, like F-1, limit off-campus paid work. Sign up anyway and tell us during your intro; we'll help you check before you take any paid calls.
Is this run by USC?
No. CallJake is an independent startup founded by a USC student. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by USC.
